As state legislative sessions start kicking off across the country, ISSRT too, will go to work — fighting for you and the Radiology profession in Illinois. We are focusing on the key issues you’re facing front and center, in your job. There are bills sitting in the legislature right now that try to expand radiology to non-trained, non-licenses, non-radiology personnel, what would that mean if they get passed? You may be out of a job. That is why the ISSRT and ASRT are working hand in hand in its grassroots Advocacy program to keep the RT protected from bills like these. We want every RTs voice to be heard. Make sure you are contacting your state legislative representative and let them know, you support ARRT backed programs, licensure and want to keep all aspects of Radiology in the realm of trained professionals. This is one of the great benefits of being a part of the ISSRT in membership, a single individual voice sometimes cannot be heard, but together, uniting our voices we can do much!
Julie Ostrowski, ISSRT President Elect and Sharon Cheek, Central Regional Advisor and Legislative chair met with states around the country, along with the ASRT on Tuesday Evening to discuss legislative issues that are active right now. We are preparing our strategies, keeping informed and sharing the information we know with others – ALL for YOU! Join us as we fight to protect, inform and share all things radiology!
